I’ve had a couple of weeks off after a hectic May and June of art funtimes. Work has been pretty busy getting the Criminal Damage Autumn/Winter 10/11 collections together. It’s looking good!
Anyway, in the last week or so I have made some more arty plans for the summer.
The Art With a Pulse II show is still on at 20-21 Visual Art Center in Scunthorpe. You have untill the 3rd September to go and check it out.
In August I will be exhibiting at what is fast becoming the UK’s premier Tiki event, Puttiki, in Hastings. This is shaping up to be a very exciting weekend, with a Tiki Art show, Crazy Golf, and the UK premier of the film Tikimentary. And ofcourse lots of drinking!
I have recently started on a collaboration between Los Furias Tiki and myself. I’m not going to give too much away but it will make its debut on Pirate Day in August. And it might feature monkeys, of a sock variety. Hopefully this will be the first of many monkey related collaborations.
Also in August, I will be exhibiting one or two pieces at Tattoo Jam, in Doncaster, dabbling in a spot of live art, and franticly preparing for Kustom Kulture Blastoff, in September.
A friend and talented artist, Phlegm has put together a series of artist tees for House skatepark in Sheffield. The list of artists includes some fantastic emerging talent such as Lord Bunn, Pud, Phlegm, myself and many more. All proceeds go towards keeping the skate park open for the people of Sheffield. Check out the selection of tees on the House website, and head for the Products section to pre order. Only £17, and all for a good cause. Here is my design below:
A good friend of mine (not to mention a talented artist) Rootz is opening a gallery space in Derby this weekend. Featuring the cream of the crop of UK street artists and illustrators, including my good self. Pop in and say “hello” if you get the chance, and pick yourself up a bargain. The aim of the gallery is to provide a showcase for emerging artists and provide art at a price that everyone can afford. I have sent over a couple of small canvases for the opening exhibition, so go grab a bargain.
I painted live with Counter Culture Collective, at this year’s Eurocultured Festival, in Manchester on the 24th and 25th May. Counter Culture Collective is a group of artists from the punk, tattoo, kustom and street art worlds. Here is a piece I have done recently for a book being produced by Artist’s Tuesday ( www.myspace.com/artisttuesday ). Artist’s Tuesday is a gathering of tattoo artists and like minded artists to share ideas and collaborate. The book will be sold for charity. The list of artists involved is very impressive. To find out the latest on the project visit the myspace page.
