Apologys for the extreme lack of post in the last few months. I started a new day job and also took on a load of freelance work so time has been a bit short! I’m going to attempt to keep on top of this a bit more now! So expect more updates in the coming weeks! Also if you are on facebook head to my fanpage www.facebook.com/clumsykate for more regular updates!
In the meantime, if you live in the South East come to this! I´ll be there with More Brains Vicar, Von Leadfoot and Ben Nuthink, having a little stall!
And if you are off to Bottrop Kustom Kulture next weekend, gimme a shout! I’ll be there as a punter, and also reviewing the event for Milkcow Magazine! We can have a beer and some German sausage!
Till next time! Clumsy x
Last weekend I headed down to Pontins Camber Sands for the Rhythm Riot weekender. I had been invited to their first ever Vintage Surf and Skate Expo to decorate a skate deck over the duration of the weekend. I’ve done plenty of live art at events like this, but this was special, as they gave me premission to do my wood burning thang! It was so much fun and the response from visitors to the show was really good! I hope I can do more events like this in the future. Here are some piccies from the weekend! Enjoy x
Last weekend was Kustom Kulture Blastoff, in Spalding. It was an excellent event with some amazing artists involved! This was the first one, and I hope this cool little event goes from strength to strength.
I feel a bit sad here at camp Clumsy. It’s the end of Summer, and a couple of events and exhibitions I was working towards have now been and gone! BUT! I have some exciting things lined up! Everything is all in the early stages, so i’m not going to say much at the moment, but watch this space!
In the meantime check out these photos from last weekend:
I have recently started on a series of pieces I have dubbed Subculture Simians, a selection of Sock Monkeys from alternative subcultures. I have long been influenced by the clothing and style of musical subcultures such as Punk, Rockabilly, Psychobilly etc, and I wanted to combine this with my love of Sock Monkeys. The chaps below are currently on show at the Art With A Pulse II exhibition at 20-21 Visual Arts Center in Scunthorpe, and can be purchased for £40 each. If you would be interested in commissioning a Subculture Simian Portrait, please email me here! clumsypunkdesigner(at)yahoo.co.uk.
